Richland County Board of Supervisors meet, discuss EMS services and other items
The Richland County Board of Supervisors has been having ongoing discussions surrounding the best way to provide EMS services to a large area in Richland County currently being provided by Richland Ambulance Services. The decision was made to have a consultant come in and assess the situation and provide recommendations.
County Administrator, Tricia Clements, and the County Clerk, Derrick Kallish, held meetings with three agencies and obtained proposals from all. A recommendation has been made to engage with Strategic Management and Consulting to complete a study. The study will be paid out of contingency funds. After discussion the Richland County Board of Supervisors approved to move forward with the study at a cost of $35,000.
The board also discussed whether they should allow online public comments at its meetings. It was brought up that not all online comments can be heard clearly, and that seems to be the main problem. No action was taken.
In other action the Richland County Board of Supervisors approved:
Boaz Country Store and Richland County Land Conservation, both in Richland Center and the Port in Blue River were all approved as Emergency Fire Wardens.
To commemorate the 44 years of service of Christian Cejpek to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.
To recognize the retirement of Sandra Campbell from the UW-Extension Office after 49 years of service to Richland County.
And changes to the Handbook of Personnel Policies and Work Rules.
