
SkillsUSA Wisconsin State Leadership and Skills Conference starts tomorrow
Area students, from Richland Center and River Valley Schools, will be competing at the 53rd annual SkillsUSA Wisconsin State Leadership and Skills Conference tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday (April 8) in Madison. Ashley Westerfeldt, Richland Center SkillsUSA advisor, talks

1,750 middle, high school, and college/post-secondary students from around the state will be taking part in the competition.
The Opening Ceremony Will be held tomorrow, at 1:00, with competition set up and event briefings held throughout the day. State Championships will be Wednesday morning at 7:30 and conclude at 4:00. The Closing Ceremony, including the presentation of awards, will start Wednesday at 6:30. The first-place winners will go on to compete in the National SkillsUSA Championships, June 1st through 5th in Atlanta, Georgia. The public is encouraged to attend the SkillsUSA Wisconsin State Championships at no cost.
