
Former Governor and Richland Center Native receives honor
RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. (WRCO / WRCE) – There will be a ceremony for the unveiling of the Wisconsin State Historical Marker honoring former Gov. Vernon W. Thomson on Wednesday, Nov. 5 in Richland Center.
The event will be hosted by the Richland Center Historical Committee. It was a process getting the State Historical Marker. Karin Tepley is from the Historical Committee.
Vernon W. Thomson was a native of Richland Center and a lifelong public servant. Bob Bellman is also from the Richland Center Historical Committee.
Karin Tepley says that the ceremony will also feature speakers honoring the former governor.
Vernon W. Thomson was a member of the Federal Election Commission. He died in Washington, D.C. in 1988 and is buried in Richland Center, Wis.
The Richland Center Historical Preservation Committee invites everyone to the ceremony unveiling the Wisconsin State Historical Marker honoring Tomson on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., at the Richland Center Community Center parking lot.
