SPRING GREEN, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – River Valley came from behind to defeat Richland Center 6-5 Friday night. The visiting Hornets led 5-1 at one point in the game. The Blackhawks scored 2 runs in the 6th and 3 in the 7th to win in exciting fashion.
Wes Bosworth singled three times and walked. He drove in 2 runs for the Hornets. Isaac Gald had 2 hits. Jacob McDonnell doubled and scored twice. Wyatt Banker pitched the first 5 and 1/3 innings before Deakin Heisz came on in relief.
Keagan Heiser pitched the first 5 innings before Clyde Samples pitched the last 2 innings to log the win. Chayse Gilbertson singled in a run in the 6th inning and Jordan Gauger added an rbi fielders choice. In the 7th, Kaden Plumley hit an rbi single scoring Keagan Heiser and Drew Riedel scored on a wild pitch to tie the game. With the potential winning run at 3rd base, River Valleys’ Griffin Sprecher laid down a bunt that pushed across Plumley with the 6th run.
With the 6-5 win, River Valley is now 1-6 in the league, and 2-12 overall. With the loss, Richland Center is now 5-8, and 3-3 in the league.
