Iowa County authorities handled a series of significant incidents on Saturday, June 6, 2026, ranging from a highway vehicle fire to high-level traffic arrests involving controlled substances and probation violations.
The day’s events began late Saturday morning when the Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a vehicle fire at 11:38 AM. The incident occurred on US Highway 151 near exit 40 in the Town of Mineral Point.
A multi-agency response was launched, including the Mineral Point Fire Department, Mineral Point EMS, Mineral Point Police Department, and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies. Upon arrival, emergency responders found the vehicle to be unoccupied. No injuries were reported in connection with the blaze.
In the evening, Iowa County Deputies were called to a residence in the 400 block of Wasley Street in Linden at 6:38 PM to investigate a reported disturbance. The investigation led to the arrest of 42-year-old Travis Ramsey of Linden. Ramsey was booked into the Iowa County Jail on charges of Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
The evening continued with two separate arrests following traffic stops. At 08:14 PM, an Iowa County Sheriff Deputy conducted a stop on USH 18-151 near mile marker 60 in the Town of Brigham. The driver, identified as 23-year-old William F. Godwin of Madison, was taken into custody.
Godwin faces multiple charges, including possession of cocaine, possession of THC, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Iowa County Jail for booking.
Less than an hour later, at 09:00 PM, deputies responded to a traffic complaint on US Highway 151 Northbound near Exit 37 in the Town of Mineral Point. A deputy located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop near Mile Marker 50, resulting in the arrest of Joan M. Delaney, 58, of Cuba City.
Delaney faces serious allegations, including operating with a controlled substance—marked as her 7th, 8th, or 9th offense. Additionally, she was charged with operating while revoked (due to alcohol, controlled substance, or refusal) and tampering with or failing to install an Ignition Interlock Device (IID). Authorities noted that Delaney is also being held on a Department of Corrections hold for a violation of probation and parole.
