Morel Mushroom Festival starts today, runs through weekend

Tonight (Friday) the 45th Annual Morel Mushroom Festival gets underway and will run through Sunday (May17) in Muscoda. Events start at 5:00.

Tonight there will also be an Antique & Farm Tractor Pull at 6:00. Tomorrow’s events include a Pancake Breakfast from 7:00 to 11:00 at St. John’s Gym, a Chili Cook-off starts at 7:00 with judging at 1:00, Also, during the morning, there will be activities the kids and family will enjoy.

Kindschi Pedal Pulls will be at 11:00 and the Parade will step-off at 3:00. Following the parade there will be a performance by the Wisconsin Badger Marching Band. Tomorrow night the Muscoda Fire Department Steak Feed starts at 4:30 and Fireworks will be shot off at dusk. Throughout the day tomorrow there will be a tasting area, vendors, live music, tours, presentations and much more. Sunday will be the final day of the festival featuring Cowboy Church at 9:30 and a Cornhole Tournament at Noon. Adam Hess has been involved in radio broadcasting since 1990, with many of those years spent on the air at WRCO FM in Richland Center. Currently, Adam hosts the Weekend Wake-up and Prime Mover Saturdays on WRCO FM, jumps in and helps out with news duties, handles Social Media duties for WRCO and WRCE, and is the Director of Technology at a Southwest Wisconsin School District.
