Ithaca-Weston girls pick up a conference win, prepares for tournament on Tuesday
Ithaca/Weston won a girls basketball game at home against Seneca 47-38 on Thursday night. The Bulldog girls emerged from a close game with free throws and a strong game from Junior Kelsea Coleman who netted 20. She had 3 three pointers and was 5 for 6 from the free throw line. Jacey Maxwell had 15, and Maylee Pluemer scored 10. Faith Studnicka and Emma Hilby each had one point for Ithaca/Weston as they improved to 7-15 and 5-7 in the conference.
Seneca was led by Dyllan Kemp with 10, and Lily Payne with 8 points. The Royals fell to 9-13 and 5-7 in the league. The win by Ithaca/Weston avenged a loss at Seneca back on February 2nd.
The 47-38 win for Ithaca/Weston was not the teams last game of the regular season. They had a game scheduled at Brookwood tonight (which was cancelled due to weather and school closure) before the team will play a WIAA first round tournament game Tuesday at Alma/Pepin. It was the final regular season contest for Seneca. They will open tournament action at River Ridge.
