Candlelight hikes, fall festivals, and other seasonal events planned at Wisconsin State Park System properties
MADISON, Wis. (CIVIC MEDIA) – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reminds the public that candlelight hikes, fall festivals and other seasonal events will be held throughout October and November at Wisconsin State Park System properties.
With over 307,000 acres of public land, state parks, forests, recreation areas and trails host some of the state’s best fall foliage and fall color viewing.
A Fall Candlelight event will be held Saturday, Oct. 18 at Mirror Lake State Park. Bring friends and family to join the park staff and Friends of Mirror Lake for this Fall Mystery Candlelight Hike. Hike along the easy one-mile torchlit trail and discover clues to help solve the mystery of who the special guest is, then meet them at the end.
When you are not out on the trail, enjoy hot chocolate and goodies around the roaring campfires. Meet at the Mirror Lake beach picnic area at 6 p.m. This event is free to attend, but a vehicle admission sticker is required.
