
Reedsburg man dies after fall from truck in Richland County
Ethan Peper, 22 of Reedsburg, was identified as the victim. Several witnesses who were present during the incident were unwilling to speak with Law Enforcement and give statements as to what had occurred.
CAZENOVIA, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – A 22-year-old Reedsburg man was pronounced dead after falling from a moving truck.
On Friday, July 4 at approximately 11:25 p.m., Cazenovia EMS and Fire were requested to an address on Dix Lane in Richland County for a male party who fell from a truck and was unresponsive. Reedsburg EMS and UW Medflight were also requested and arrived on scene.
Life-saving measures were attempted immediately on the male party but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
Ethan Peper, 22 of Reedsburg, was identified as the victim. Several witnesses who were present during the incident were unwilling to speak with law enforcement and give statements as to what had occurred. After gathering statements from witnesses and conducting a preliminary investigation, police discovered that Peper was seated on the tailgate of a truck when he fell onto the roadway.
The investigation is still ongoing at this time and the Richland County Sheriff’s Office believes there are people who witnessed this incident with more information.
