
It’s National Police Week
It's held annually during National Police Week.
RICHLAND CENTER, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – It’s National Police Week. This is an opportunity for law enforcement to remind the public of the sacrifices they have to protect the lives and property of citizens.
Each year, approximately 66,414 law enforcement officers are assaulted or injured in the line of duty; 165 officers lost their lives in 2024. Wisconsin Department of Corrections Officer Corey Proulx died in the line of duty on June 25, 2024. So far in 2025, 23 officers have been killed in the line of duty.
National Recognition
