Ithaca over Seneca in softball, faces Weston next
ITHACA, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – The Ithaca softball team won 12-2 in six innings over visiting Seneca in a Ridge and Valley conference game.
The Bulldogs pulled away from a close game with two runs in the fifth and four in the sixth to win on the 10-run rule.
With the victory, Ithaca is now 15-5 for the season and 10-2 in the league. Seneca fell to 7-11 and 6-6 with the loss.
Ariannna Louis was the winning pitcher after striking out 10, giving up five hits and no walks. She also helped at the plate, going three for five with a double; Holly King was three for five with a double and four RBIs; Kelsea Coleman was three for four with four RBIs; Jacey Maxwell, Kailey Newkirk, and Jadyn Boland all had two hits.
For Seneca, Raya Wallin and Grace Varo both had two hits. Wallin had two RBIs and a double. Addison Davidson was one for three. Brigid Hall suffered the pitching loss. She struck out two, walked three, and gave up 12 hits.
The next game for Ithaca, following the 12-2 win, will be a home contest against Weston on Thursday, May 15. Seneca will play North Crawford.
