Wood County, Wis. (WFHR, WIRI) – Local election results are in and here are the numbers in several local races in Wood County. Also included are the results in Adams County in the Town of Rome.
People in the Village of Port Edwards reelected Betsy Mancl for Village President by a margin of 12 votes. Challenger Matt Fletcher received 381 votes to Betsy Mancl’s 393.
For Port Edwards Village Trustee the numbers are as follows:
Joseph Zurfluh – 483
Eric Hummel – 413
Nick Flugaur – 410
Matt Fletcher – 398
For Port Edwards School Board:
Kathy McGrath – 791
Krystal Sievers – 449
Dana Duncan – 433
In the Wisconsin Rapids School Board race, Jaime Sparkes won 6011 votes, Troy Bier 4933, Craig Manka 3939, and Steven Wasmundt 2957.
Alderperson races in Wisconsin Rapids were all unopposed. Ryan Austin – District 1, Justin Pluess – District 3, and Jake Cattanach – District 5 reclaimed their seats. Michael Timm takes over District 7 from Patrick Delaney.
Nekoosa voters may have wanted to exceed the revenue limit for the school district by a margin of 40 votes. 1054 people voted yes and 1014 residents voted no. However, the numbers from Adams and Juneau Counties in the district caused the referendum to fail 1875 to 2126. The referendum aimed to improve and maintain district programming.
School board candidates in Nekoosa included Brian Machon and David Schmidt. The results include numbers from three counties. Total votes for Brian Machon – 2818. Total votes for David Schmidt – 2695

In the Town of Rome, Carl Hasdal won for Town Board Chairperson with 1,123 votes to Philip McLaughlin’s 577. There were 16 write-in votes.
