RICHLAND CENTER, Wis (WRCO) – In a move that sent a solitary shockwave, well actually more of a small ripple, through the Wisconsin Radio Industry WRCO-FM has announced that The Morning Round-Up will be replaced by “Knitting with Jo Ann – sponsored by the CREATIVE OUTLET”.

While not exactly a surprise, the timing of the announcement WAS as word came down from corporate headquarters concerning the demise of the ROUND-UP during the ROUND-UP broadcast.

Hemm Schemple, Civic Media director of mediocre programming, said of the replacement, “Well, just like baseball if you have a guy that goes 0-35 you pull him from the lineup and replace him with someone that has the potential to do better, whether they are an actual improvement or perceived improvement you make the move, you yank him – maybe even send him down to the minors. Is “Knitting with Jo Ann” an actual or perceived improvement? We don’t know for sure, BUT we DO know the ROUND-UP team is 0-35.”

Phil Nee, 1/3 of the team, released the following statement to the public; ‘While I am mildly annoyed at getting the boot, honestly it is worth it to NEVER hear Hank sing another note. I will be OK, I will still eat, I have skills and talents that transcend the ROUND-UP so YOU do the math. Am I going to be OK? Don’t count me out and don’t sing to me.”

Hank Bray, about 23% of the morning Round-up combo, said of the cancellation, “I am a bit disappointed, but honestly with the talent involved with this show I am surprised we even made it out of the audition stage. Now, I just need to learn to knit and get a guest gig on that Jo Ann thing. I have low confidence I can knit, but you never know.”

Jo Ann Krulatz could not be reached for comment, as TXZ reported she was receiving treatment for an inadvertent injury caused when she ran a purl stitch when everyone knows she should have placed a plaited stitch. Her management team said “She will be fine, she just needs to come back strong. Yeah it was a rookie mistake, but then again she IS a rookie soooo…”

Stay tuned for more programming changes to be announced later today, April 1 2025.
