The Richland Center Fire Department was called out twice on Sunday.
The department first responded around 12:40 in the afternoon for a report of heavy smoke in a structure located at 24757 County Highway RC. Mutual aid was requested enroute. On arrival heavy smoke was found and the main fire area was around the wood stove located in the basement of the structure. There was severe damage throughout the entire structure, but no injuries were reported. Seven fire units and 28 firefighters were on scene for three hours assisted by the Muscoda, Lone Rock, and Viola Fire Departments, Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Richland EMS, and Alliant Energy.
The second call came in around 2:20. Three fire units and 11 firefighters responded to 28190 Spiral Road for a shed fire. It was reported the shed was next to another structure. Upon arrival units found a 12×12 shed fully involved and were able to contain the fire to just the one structure. No injuries were reported and personnel were on scene for about an hour. The Richland Center Fire Department was assisted by the Lone Rock Fire Department, Richland County Sheriff’s Department, and Richland County EMS.
