MADISON, Wis. (WMDX) – With well above-average temperatures in the forecast for the next week, city officials will open three of Madison’s four golf courses on Sunday, February 25 at 10AM. The Odana Hills, Monona, and Yahara Hills Golf Courses are all set to open this weekend.
The Glen Golf Park will open later, on Friday March 1. Online reservations for the three courses opening this weekend are open now.
Motorized golf carts are not currently allowed on the courses, due to the late winter season. Push carts will be available for golfers to rent. The city’s driving ranges are still closed until further notice.
City officials are also pushing forward their Tee Off Party to start this Sunday. It was originally scheduled to start March 2. The Tee Off Party will run until Saturday, March 2 at all three open golf courses from 10AM to 4PM. Season passes for Madison golf courses can be purchased for a 10% discount during the Tee Off Party.
Dane County has seen an unseasonably warm winter so far, with February averaging 11.5 degrees above average so far. Madison is on track to have its second warmest February on record, coming just half a degree below the record set in 1882.
